How to install central heating. Part 1. Planning.
This will be a series of video’s following our efforts to install a full central heating system over the coming months.
We currently have economy 7 storage heaters that are old, inefficient and very expensive. Plus a tank with immersion heater.
Having had a ridiculous quote of £13,000 for a boiler and 7 radiators from British Gas and a lucky escape with Fischer Heat UK Limited I decided to do it myself.
Which Best Buy boilers are either Worcester Bosch or Vaillant brands.
See Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert forum for the low down on Fischer Heat UK.
Or the Advertising Standards Agency.
To work out our boiler size I used the on-line boiler size calculator below.
The radiator calculator I used is below.
If you need a gas connection to your house I would suggest getting an on-line quote from National Grid. They were over £100 cheaper than British Gas.
Thanks to http://www.plumberparts.co.uk for their you Tube videos.
Next part will look at planning regulations and if any actually apply plus a list and cost of the parts required.
Please feel free to comment if you have any idea’s or thoughts on all of this.
