Successful test Heating my house with veggie oil .. Lots of FREE hot water and heating
Home Boiler Stove running on waste veggie oil. I just put down a couple of pieces of sheet metal to cover the grate causing the air for combustion to access the stove through a hole in the sheets Simply placed my new homemade burner on top. I dripped in some oil through a 10mm copper pipe. This setup was temporary and took about 20 minutes to setup as I had all the bits necessary components from other projects. I ran my boiler stove on veggie oil and heated water, rads and underfloor heating.
Here’s a link to the burner unit https://youtu.be/lU93mSoaJEk
The burner unit is enclosed in a water jacket /boiler which takes the heat to my wet heating system (underfloor heating and Radiators and 300 litre hot water storage). The heating circulation pump is set to push the water away from the stove once the water reaches 60 degrees Celcius. The stove is using a little less than 2 litres per hour with no smoke visible from my chimney. The drip rate for the vegetable oil is 4 to 5 drips per second. This can be seen on larger screens. This is a Waterford Stanley Erin 21 kilowatt stove with 15 Kw to the water side of things and 6Kw in Radiated heat to the room.
